M-34, 54, MELIANA is shown here charging down the wind off of
Sarasota, Fl in an early photo shoot for a brochure.
Aboard were Jennifer and Charley the first two of the Morgan children. The
kids thought it was great fun to be in the pictures.
MELIANA went on to win many races in the Gulf off of Clearwater and
along the coast and Tampa Bay. She visited the Dry Tortugas and other
anchorages on many cruising occasions.
Charley Morgan and Bruce Bidwell were the whips on board RUTHLESS drawing
the "first blood" ever for any production Morgan; She went on to win many
more times in her first season.

The M-34 blasting along in the Gulf Stream off Miami, Fl, was owned
and campaigned by the fiercely competitive Howard Foght of Miami.
Fl. His racing success generated many sales of Morgans in the area.
A hurricane blew Howard's M-34 up onto the seaplane ramp at Dinner Key,
high and dry.
Undismayed Howard enlisted the help of a powerboat friend clapped a line
on the boat and dragged her right back into the water virtually unscathed.
